The Union Home Mortgage Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is to equip families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency, announced it is giving back by donating $5,000 to Easter Seals of Greater Houston.

Houston, TX – Feb. 3, 2022 – In an ongoing effort to support and improve local communities, the Union Home Mortgage Foundation (UHMF) is giving back by donating $5,000 to Easter Seals of Greater Houston.

Nationally, Easter Seals is a leading nonprofit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and other special needs, as well as service members, veterans and their families.

UHMF funding will go to support Easter Seals’ homebuyer programs and education for families that meet low-income guidelines. This program, which has a strong focus on military families and people with disabilities, improves the Houston community by revitalizing neighborhoods through offering tools to help low-income families improve their financial literacy.

“Easter Seals of Greater Houston is truly grateful to have the support of the UHMF in helping underserved veterans and people with disabilities improve their financial stability while increasing the inclusiveness and resilience of families and the greater community,” said Elise Hough, CEO of Easter Seals of Greater Houston.

“Financial literacy is a foundational skill to help individuals navigate many of life’s challenges, but it is unfortunately lacking in many educational curriculums,” said Bill Cosgrove, President & CEO of Union Home Mortgage. “We’re thrilled to be able to support Easter Seals of Greater Houston and their invaluable work on this key issue.”
