Indianapolis, Indiana – May 17, 2021 – The Union Home Mortgage Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is to equip families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency, today announced it is renewing its support of Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Indiana (BBBSCI) with a $7,500 donation. In an ongoing effort to support and improve local communities, this funding will help support two signature programs.

The mission of BBBSCI is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth and the Foundation is dedicated to supporting that mission. The funds will support two programs including:

  • BBSCI’s Little Impacts program, which will provide Big/Little matches with events and activities designed to help develop life skills including money and time management, and other skills for living.
  • Big Futures program, a college and career readiness program, with events like professional dress etiquette, college admission tours and financial literacy courses – including one titled “All About Student Loans” – presented by members of the Foundation.

“The Union Home Mortgage Foundation has made a significant investment in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana with their support of intentional and outcome-oriented programming,” said Whitney Smith, Director of Corporate Partnerships at BBBSCI. “As the signature sponsor of these programs, the Foundation is making a difference to over 1,250 Littles annually. We are grateful for our longstanding partnership with the Union Home Mortgage Foundation and their impact on our mission and the Central Indiana community.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana is one of 11 non-profit organizations the Foundation has supported so far this year.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide assistance to the nonprofits that have given so much to local communities,” said Christina Fagan, Executive Director of the Union Home Mortgage Foundation. “BBBSCI is playing a pivotal role in the community by providing the next generation with the support system and tools they need to lead them on a pathway to economic self-sufficiency.”
