This month's Most Valuable Partner is Travis Waters, a Loan Officer at Union Home Mortgage
The Union Home Mortgage Foundation would not be where we are today without the support of our amazing Union Home Mortgage Partners. Each month, we are highlighting outstanding partners and this month's Most Valuable Partner is Travis Waters!
Travis has been a Loan Officer with UHM since April of 2016. He works and lives in Valparaiso, IN but was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He is a huge Steelers fan and for fun, takes his kids mountain biking, love to golf when he can and enjoys traveling with his family!
Q: Why do you support the UHM Foundation?
A: I enjoy giving back in any way that I can and feel that the UHM Foundation does a great job of helping us give back in our local communities. It is great to see a foundation that is focusing on financial literacy. A goal of mine when I talk with people is take make sure they have a full understanding of their financial picture. I have found that there are too many people in our world that have not been taught basic financial fundamentals. Have resources to help people understand basic finances is something we need more of.
Q: How do you support the UHM Foundation?
A: I participate in payroll deduction, Partner Backpack Project, Partner Up for Plates, and volunteer to present for the Foundation on Financial Literacy topics.
Q: What is your favorite memory of the UHM Foundation?
A: The backpack drive this year. A team member of mine ran into someone that works in IT at Housing Opportunities a few weeks ago. He knew who she was because we donated more backpacks than anyone for the school year. He was genuinely excited about what we did.
Q: What else are you involved in in your community?
A: I am working on getting more involved in my community. In the past, my wife and I have provided overnight bags to children that are being adopted, paid all negative lunch balances for our kids elementary school at the end of the calendar year, donated to special needs classrooms so that they have the supplies they need, and donated to our school to help purchase supplies and clothes for those in need.
