The Union Home Mortgage Foundation would not be where we are today without the support of our amazing Union Home Mortgage Partners! Each month we are highlighting one of these outstanding partners and this month’s MVP is Amber Bruno, Internal Audit Team Lead at Union Home Mortgage!

Amber has been in the mortgage business and with Union Home since 2016. She started with the Compliance department and is currently the Internal Audit Team Lead. She is from Youngstown, OH and currently lives in Lakewood. Amber graduated from the University of Mount Union where she was the women’s golf team captain. She loves being outside, reading her Kindle and spending time with friends.

We interviewed Amber to learn more about why she supports the UHM Foundation and the other ways she is active in her community:

Q: Why do you support the Union Home Mortgage Foundation?

A: “The Foundation is a continuation of the culture at Union Home. I believe it’s so important to give back to our community around us. I’ve been very lucky in my life to have so much support around me and I want to give that same support to as many people as I can.”

Q: How do you support the Union Home Mortgage Foundation?

A: “I’ve volunteered at the Gala, 5K and participated in multiple VTO experiences. Last year I was an event leader for Purple Days and organized a beach cleanup that included 20+ UHM Partners. I’ve also recently partnered with Boys Hope Girls Hope through the Future Leaders program and was able to donate $10,000 generously given by the company.”

Q: What is your favorite memory of working with the Union Home Mortgage Foundation?

A: “My favorite experience was volunteering at the Bedford Schools to donate books. I helped students pick out their favorite book and create a nametag for them to take home. Seeing the joy in their eyes when they realized that book was theirs to keep was a really special experience.”

Q: How are you involved in other organizations or volunteerism in your community?

A: “I am the event co-chair for the CLE St. Jude Run/Walk. I’ve always had a passion for St. Jude and have been volunteering with the organization since 2016. This is my second year on the committee and my 4th year participating in the walk. It’s one of my favorite and most gratifying experiences every year."

Thank you, Amber, for all the wonderful ways you support the Union Home Mortgage Foundation and causes in your community!
